The Jewel of Langkawi

The oldest state in the country of Malaysia that borders Thailand up north of the peninsula, Kedah boasts a history that dates back to the 5th century AD. Occupying an area of 9,425 sq. kilometers, the state is the country’s main rice producer and the capital of Kedah is Alor Setar.

Asia’s very first Geopark is found in this state along with the beautiful island of Langkawi which is a popular island tourist destination where you can head to for some R&R. Kedah also features the world’s longest tree top walk at Sedim and the historic ancient Bujang Valley archaeological site.

Penang

Perlis

With a history that dates back to the 1800s, Perlis is a natural wonderland that sits between the northern state of Kedah and neighbouring Thailand. This state covers 795 sq. kilometers and has plentiful of breathtaking paddy plains, rustic villages, limestone outcrops and calming lakes. Perlis is also the home to Malaysia’s only semi-deciduous forest. All the greens of this state make it a perfect choice for calming and relaxing visit.
